Lesser told story of Kashmir – Hari Parbat Fort
A classical shot of the Hari Parbat Fort in Srinagar with the Pir Panjals in the background. The only Fort in the Kashmir Valley which still stands strong in a hill in the middle of Srinagar. The Fort was built by the Afghans though Akbar had also built fortifications on the Hill.
There is a passage underground which led from the Fort to the banks of the Pokhribal Lake which is a part of the Nigeen Lake. After the defeat of the Afghans the Fort was under the Sikhs before finally passing onto the Dogras.
