Popularly referred to as the “Taj Mahal of Marwar”, the structure is an epitome of a Rajputana style of architecture. The mausoleum is built out of intricately carved sheets of marble which are extremely thin and polished. Due to which they emit a warm glow when illuminated by the sun.

The cenotaph’s grounds feature carved gazebos, a tiered garden, and a small lake. There are three other cenotaphs in the grounds. The cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh displays portraits of the rulers and Maharajas of Jodhpur. It’s a welcome, peaceful spot after the hubbub of the city, and the views across to the fort and over the city are superb.
